Giles has 30 years of investment banking experience focusing on global capital markets. Prior to joining Hannam & Partners in 2014, Giles was President and Head of Capital Markets at Canaccord Genuity in London. From 2005 to 2008 Giles led Fox–Pitt, Kelton (specialist FIG Investment Bank) as CEO following an MBO from Swiss Re – Giles and the management of FPK teamed up with JC Flowers on the buyout from Swiss Re. Prior to joining FPK, Giles spent five years on the Global Equities Management Committee at ABN AMRO, first as Global Head of Trading and latterly as Head of European Equities. Prior to the purchase of Hoare Govett by ABN AMRO Giles was Managing Director for Secondary Markets. Giles has a BA from Southampton University.

Ernest advises primarily on mergers & acquisitions and fundraisings, with a particular focus on public companies and the financial & business services sector. His broad public markets experience includes advising on multiple hostile and contested takeovers. In M&A he has acted for leading private equity firms, UK FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies in successful buyside and sellside processes. Prior to joining Hannam & Partners in 2013 he worked in the UK investment banking teams at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Investec. He has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.

Richard Clarke joined Hannam & Partners in 2019 as a Senior Adviser. He was formerly at KPMG for 31 years (18 as a Partner) where he headed Corporate Finance, M&A and Asset and Wealth Management. He has led M&A deals for over 80 clients including global financial institutions, public bodies, listed, private equity and owner managed businesses. Most of these M&A deals were in wealth management, financial planning and asset management. Richard has Board level contacts across regulated financial services and is a Chartered accountant.
